Using the Soul Machines Zapier Integration

Modified on Tue, 15 Apr at 6:45 PM

You can now connect Soul Machines AI Digital People to over 6,000+ apps using Zapier, enabling powerful automation between lifelike conversations and your existing workflows.

Whether you’re screening job candidates, triaging support tickets, or qualifying leads, the Soul Machines Zapier plugin lets you launch AI-powered conversations and capture structured results — all without writing a line of code.

What You Can Do with the Plugin

The Soul Machines Zapier plugin has two key building blocks:

Feature

Purpose

Action: Create Interaction

Starts a personalized AI conversation with a chosen avatar and purpose.

Trigger: Interaction Completed

Fires after a user finishes the conversation and returns results.

Together, they let you build closed-loop workflows where your AI handles the interaction, and the results feed directly into your systems.

Requirements to Get Started

Before connecting to Zapier, make sure you have the following:

  • Soul Machines account on the Annual Pro Plan

  • The Premium Integrations Add-On (contact support@soulmachines.com if unsure)

  • Zapier account

  • A Zapier API Key from Soul Machines (sent to you after add-on purchase — turnaround time is typically 1 business day)

Step 1: Connect Soul Machines to Zapier

  1. Go to zapier.com and log in.

  2. Start a new Zap or open an existing one.

  3. Choose Soul Machines as your trigger or action app.

  4. When prompted, enter the Zapier API Key provided by our support team.

  5. Once connected, you can begin building your automation!

Step 2: Use the “Create an Interaction” Action

This action lets you configure and launch a new conversation with your AI Digital Person. Use it to initiate interviews, onboarding, triage, coaching sessions, and more.

Key Fields

Field

Description

Avatar

Name of the avatar (e.g., “Mia”)

Role

Who the avatar is playing (e.g., “a hiring manager”)

Interaction Tone

Style and tone of voice (e.g., “confident, funny, engaging”)

Interaction Purpose

Goal of the conversation (e.g., “gauge suitability for the role”)

Objectives

What the AI should uncover (e.g., name, availability, examples)

Results

What data you want Zapier to capture from the conversation

Event Name

A unique name for this interaction type (used later by the trigger)

Tip: Keep objectives clear and specific. Example: “Confirm the applicant’s full name.”

Step 3: Use the “Interaction Completed” Trigger

Once the conversation ends, Zapier can listen for the results and take action. Create a new Zap using the "Interaction Completed" trigger as the first node. Then, match the event_name used in the “Create Interaction” step. You can then pull data from your interaction  (fields like full_name, salary, or availability) into downstream actions.

Use It To:

  • Add AI feedback to a Workable candidate profile.

  • Post triage notes to a Zendesk ticket.

  • Send summary reports via Gmail or log to Google Sheets.

  • Update CRMs or internal dashboards with structured data.
