Adding Pauses to Speech

Modified on Sun, 2 Mar at 6:40 PM

Timing Tags

These tags introduce pauses in speech of durations corresponding to their respective tag names, such as half a second, one second, and so forth.

Tag

Description

#PauseHalf

Pause half a second
#PauseOne
Pause one second
#PauseOneandHalf
Pause one and a half seconds
#PauseTwo
Pause two seconds

This tag can be positioned at the start of a sentence to defer its commencement. Please note that incorporating a pause at the beginning of a sentence will induce anticipatory movements, where the lips initiate movement during the pause phase in preparation for speech. For instance:

Hello. Very nice to meet you. #PauseOne What's your name?

If you do not wish to have this anticipatory movement, you can enclose the Pause Tag within an empty sentence. For instance:

Hello. Very nice to meet you. #PauseOne. What's your name?
